1. Development of osmo- and appetite regulation during transfer of smolt from freshwater to increasing salinities
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskapSammanfattning : Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) is common in Scandinavian aquaculture and must be transferred from freshwater to seawater to grow properly. Despite being assessed as ready smolts, meaning they have gone through the physiological changes to prepare for SW transfer, the transfer result in a mortality rate of around 13-19%, and significant appetite- and growth reductions. 2. Relatedness and diversity in Swedish local chicken breeds using mitochondrial DNA D-loop sequences and SNP data
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and GeneticsSammanfattning : Genetic diversity is the variation in genetic information carried by individuals within a species or population. This variability plays a crucial role in enabling species to adapt and survive in changing environments and is essential for evolutionary processes. LÄS MER
4. Countermovement Jump To Monitor Neuromuscular Fatigue In Endurance Athletes : A correlation study between training load and CMJ-variables
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Avdelningen för idrottsmedicinSammanfattning : Training load monitoring is crucial to examine fatigue status. The currently available methodsshow diverse validity, and each come with their limitations. The advantages of CMJ are manyand seem to be useful within team sports, although its use on endurance athletes needs moreresearch. LÄS MER
5. Associations of COVID-19 diagnosis with levels of selected clinical markers among elderly individuals: a hospital-based, cross-sectional study
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för folkhälso- och vårdvetenskapSammanfattning : Background Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) affected elderly individuals disproportionately in terms of hospitalization and adverse outcome. Objective This cross-sectional study examined the associations of COVID-19 diagnosis (COVID-negative versus COVID-positive) with levels of four clinical markers – cardiac troponin T (cTnT), high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP), D-dimer and b-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) – along with potential differences in associations by sex in a hospital-based sample of elderly individuals.
