  1. 1. Evaluation of rainfall-runoff modelling data in Sebeya Catchment, Rwanda - Recommendations for improved flood hazard analysis

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Anna Ebbersten; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Rwanda; Sebeya; hydrological modelling; rainfall-runoff; catchment; HEC-HMS; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Rwanda has experienced an increase in the frequency of riverine floods since the mid 2000s, and the future impact of climate change on the hydrological cycle is uncertain. Flood hazard analysis is one tool used to reduce flood risks; the analysis is often based on models which requires hydrological and meteorological data. LÄS MER

  2. 2. VÅR TIDS STÖRSTA UTMANING : En studie om tre svenska kommuners arbete med klimatanpassning och hantering av översvämningsrisker i den fysiska planeringen

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för geografi

    Författare :Anna Skyltbäck; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Klimatanpassning; fysisk planering; översvämning; sårbarhet;

    Sammanfattning : With climate change, great challenges arise for society, exactly how large these effects will be depending partly on the ability to adapt society to change but also on its extent. It is primarily the municipalities that have a central role in this as they are responsible for implementing concrete measures and managing physical planning to reduce society's vulnerability. 3. 3. Quantification of peat volume change in Northern peatlands : A study of mires capacity to swell and shrink and its relation to mire age and land management

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Anna Engman; [2022]
    Nyckelord :peatland; peat volume change; ecohydrology; specific storage; peatland age; torvmark; myr; torvvolymförändring; ekohydrologi; specifik magasinkoefficient; ålder;

    Sammanfattning : Peatlands are important ecosystems that provide ecohydrological functions related to carbon storage and cycling, water quality, flood attenuation, and groundwater recharge. One key characteristic that gives peatlands these functions is the capacity to swell and shrink upon wetting and drying, commonly referred to as peat volume change. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hur kan infiltration i åkermark beskrivas vid skyfallskartering?

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Anna Hilgers; Linnea Ahl; [2020]
    Nyckelord :skyfallmodellering; skyfallskartering; infiltration; jordbruksmark; åkermark; modellering; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : I denna rapport undersöktes hur infiltration i åkermark kan beskrivas i en skyfallskartering. Utifrån en fördjupad litteraturstudie av åkermarkens egenskaper och särart valdes en uppsättning parametrar för att beskriva dess infiltration. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Using leaf economics to find appropriate woody species for rain gardens

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Sanna Ignell; [2020]
    Nyckelord :leaf economics; woody vegetation; urban vegetation; rain garden; waterlogging; flooding; plasticity; specific leaf area; leaf traits; l;

    Sammanfattning : Urban rainwater management faces great challenges in the future, caused by expected increase in precipitation and frequency of storms associated with climate change. Constructions such as rain gardens may be a mean for adaptation to, as well as mitigation of these effects. LÄS MER
