1. Umeå, Sweden; Becoming a Smart City : How can a city succesfully achieve transforming into a smart city?
Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/IHH, FöretagsekonomiSammanfattning : While several authors have focused on the different components of smart city projects and practicalities for their development in large urban areas, despite the absence of a consensual definition of what a smart city is, limited attention has been given to the transformation process achieved by multi-actor relations derived from a sustained network of social innovation and collaboration in smaller cities. Focusing on the Swedish city of Umeå, this study focuses on answering the research question: How is the city of Umeå achieving a smart city transformation? For this purpose, this manuscript inductively examines the opinions and experience of several professionists and decision-makers involved in smart-city projects for a theoretical identification of the observed social phenomena allowing this sustained development. 2. Polygeneration system model in rural areas of Colombia : Filipinas ETCR as a case of study
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : This project has addressed the design of a cost-effective Polygeneration system that guarantees a continuous, equitable and environmentally friendly energy supply for the rural settlement of Filipinas ETCR, (in Spanish, Espacios Territoriales de Capacitación y Reincorporación) Colombia, which is currently not achieved, due to a system that relies on the national electricity grid (with numerous outages) and on LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and wood to meet the thermal demand, mainly for cooking. For this purpose, in addition to the current energy supply situation, the energy demand according to type (electricity and heat) and sector (residential, commercial and agro-livestock) is characterized. 3. Sustainable delivery vehicle for last mile delivery services
