  1. 1. Effects of Immiscible Compressor Oil in a Flooded PSHE Evaporator : A Visual Study Approach

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Energiteknik

    Författare :Joel Blomfelt; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This paper deals with heat transfer in plate evaporators, with a focus on the effects caused by carried-over compressor oil ending up in the heat exchanger. A common standpoint in literature regarding the effect of immiscible oil contamination, in for example an ammonia PHE evaporator, is that the oil can accumulate as a layer on the plate surface causing an additional thermal conduction resistance. 2. 2. Bubble Dynamics on Artificial Nucleation Sites in Boiling Heat Transfer

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Yuqing Zhang; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Pool boiling heat transfer is a complicated scientific problem due to the complex phase change process. In recent years, with the development of nuclear technology, microelectronics and space exploration, more attention has been paid to boiling which present great potentials for the thermal management in these applications because nucleate boiling has much better heat transfer performance than single-phase fluid, while bubbles, including their departure frequency and diameter and the interaction between bubbles plays an important role in determination of the heat transfer performance. 3. 3. Fouling Dependency of Air in Dairy Processing

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Erik Lorin; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Fouling; Dairy; UHT; Bubble; Bubble induced fouling; Drying; THE; Dairy Processing; Processing; Bubble Nucleation; Differential Pressure; Oxygen sensors; chemical engineering; kemiteknik; Agriculture and Food Sciences; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In this master thesis project, the formation of fouling on heat exchanger surfaces in dairy processing and mainly the influence of air was examined. Based on prior experimental findings regarding the influence of air bubbles in combination with calculations based on solubility properties of air in milk, a hypothesis was stated. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Constraining Crustal Volatile Release in Magmatic Conduits by Synchrotron X-ray μ-CT

    Master-uppsats, Berggrundsgeologi

    Författare :Sylvia Berg; [2011]
    Nyckelord :xenoliths; crustal gases; synchrotron X-ray μ-CT; 3D-bubble networks; gas migration; magmatic volatile budget; explosive eruption;

    Sammanfattning : Magma-crust interaction in magma reservoirs and conduits is a crucial process during magma evolution and ascent. This interaction is recorded by crustal xenoliths that frequently show partial melting, inflation and disintegration textures. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Disintegration and Devolatilisation of Sandstone Xenolith in Magmatic Conduits: an Experimental Approach

    Kandidat-uppsats, Berggrundsgeologi

    Författare :Sylvia Berg; [2010]
    Nyckelord :xenolith; melting; bubbles; gas migration; crustal volatiles; magma-crust interaction; magma volatile budget; explosive eruption;

    Sammanfattning : Xenoliths preserve evidence of magma-crust interactions in magmatic reservoirs and conduits. They reveal processes of partial melting of country rock, and disintegration into magma. Widespread evidence for frothy xenoliths in volcanic deposits exists, and these evidently indicate processes of gas liberation, bubble nucleation and bubble growth. LÄS MER
