  1. 1. Short- and long-term survival rates after colic surgery : a retrospective study of colic horses operated at UDS between 2019-2022

    Master-uppsats, SLU/University Animal Hospital

    Författare :Fabian Förander; [2024]
    Nyckelord :colic; surgery; survival; complications; short-term; long-term;

    Sammanfattning : Colic can be a serious condition in horses, that may require surgery. In this study, survival after colic laparotomy was investigated both in the short-term (until discharge from the hospital) and in the long-term (until 1-year after surgery). Survival of different diagnoses found during surgery was explored. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Wind Turbine Recovery Forecasting using Survival Analysis

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Anton Palets; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Survival analysis; Recovery Forecast; Wind Turbine; Availability Forecast; AFT model; Aalen s model; Cox regression; Cox Proportional Hazards; Variation Processes; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : The goal of this thesis is to present a methodology for predicting time until recovery of failed wind turbines. The necessity is motivated by the potential for more accurate wind energy export forecasts. The current approach rests entirely on having an expert examine the turbine and produce a time estimate. 3. 3. Identification of epigenetic biomarkers associated with the development of diabetic kidney disease in individuals with type 2 diabetes: a nested cohort study

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Socialmedicin och global hälsa

    Författare :Marian Paiva Marchiori; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction. Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is the most common type of diabetes, and it can cause complications such as diabetic kidney disease (DKD), the main cause of end-stage renal disease worldwide. There is an urgent need to develop new biomarkers that would improve DKD’s risk prediction in patients with T2D. LÄS MER

  4. 4. An Application of Cluster Analysis in Identifying and Evaluating Prognostic Subgroups for Therapy-Related Acute Myeloid Leukemia

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Statistiska institutionen

    Författare :Stefanie Antonilli; [2022]
    Nyckelord :AML; lymphoma; heterogeneous data; cluster analysis; k-prototypes algorithm;

    Sammanfattning : Treatment for lymphoma with alkylating therapy is known to increase the risk of secondary malignancies such as Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), although the risk is not fully understood. This study investigates the characteristics of AML that arise after lymphoma treatment in contrastto AML cases without a prior lymphoma. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Influences of genetically predicted and attained education on geographical mobility and their association with mortality : A cohort study investigating the influence of genetic predisposition to higher education as well as attained education on geographic mobility and differences in mortality risk in Swedish twins born 1926-1955

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för folkhälsovetenskap

    Författare :Elsa Ojalehto; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Polygenic score; Attained education; Geographic mobility; Mortality; Socioeconomic status;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction Research show that both educational attainment and genetic propensity to education (PGSEdu) can be associated with geographic mobility and that individuals living in more deprived areas tend to have poorer health while those living in more advantaged places tend to have better health. In this thesis, the aim was to study how polygenic scores for education and attained education influence and differ by geographic mobility, and how they influence the association between geographic mobility and mortality.
