21. Searching for direct collapse black holes using the James Webb Space Telescope
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomiSammanfattning : Recent detections of massive quasars at z > 6 has proven to be an interesting challengefor cosmology given the short time frame that these objects have to reach a certainmass via conventional methods (e.g., galaxy mergers). 22. Utilising Raw GNSS Data from Android Units to Improve Positioning
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologiSammanfattning : In this study it was examined if positioning can be improved by utilising raw Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data from Android devices instead of using Android's existing Location API. If this is the case, the coworkers at BM System may modify their apps, one is called Loco, to develop one that calculates positions directly by utilising raw GNSS data instead of using Android's Location API which is done presently. 24. The Hitchhiker's Guide to Irony
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/EngelskaSammanfattning : In this paper, I explore how Douglas Adams’ comedic 1979 science-fiction novel The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy could be used to improve English as a foreign language (EFL) learners’ understanding of irony. Specifically, the study is based on criteria for the English 5 course in Swedish upper secondary school and is performed using a combined theoretical framework of Dan Sperber and Deidre Wilson’s principle of relevance and Paul Grice’s maxims of conversation. 25. Starbursts at Cosmic Dawn : Formation of Globular Clusters, Ultra-Faint Dwarfs, and Population III star clusters at z > 6
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för astronomiSammanfattning : In the standard model of cosmology (ΛCDM) the first stars, star clusters, and galaxies are expected to have formed in short bursts of star formation in low-mass dark matter halos at high redshifts (). Up to this point, attempts to predict the properties and abundances of these luminous objects have made use of numerically expensive cosmological simulations. LÄS MER
