  1. 1. CO-LOCATION OF WIND AND SOLAR POWER IN SOUTHERN SWEDEN

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Michail Iakovos Dragasis; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hybrid renewable energy system; Profitability; Lithium-ion battery storage system;

    Sammanfattning : This paper examines the possibility of adding a photovoltaic(PV) power station to an already planned wind park in terms of profitability. At this time, southern Sweden’s grid is facing a number of challenges and is hurting economic development. Hybrid parks have showed to be able to tackle some of those challenges. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Unlocking the Potential of Solar-Hydro Hybrid Solutions: Feasibility and Economic Analysis

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Industriell elektroteknik och automation

    Författare :Måns Rosberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hydropower; Solarpower; Hybrid power production; Solar-hydro hybrid power; Reservoir storage; Energy storage; Pumped hydro power; Floating PV; PV; Photovoltaics; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Hybrid solutions that combine multiple renewable energy sources, such as solar power and hydro power, are gaining popularity as a means of meeting the growing energy demands while minimising environmental impacts, but also as an opportunity of connecting solar power plants to the grid in areas where this might not be possible unless large investments are made. This master thesis aims to evaluate the feasibility and economic viability of integrating solar panels with an existing grid connection point at a hydro power plant, along with the introduction of an energy storage solution using a hydro power plant reservoir. 3. 3. Decentralizing electricity generation in Cuba : Implementation of a microgrid in the sugar mil lCarlos Baliño

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Aylin Berber; Cornelia Eriksson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Microgrid; renewable energy; bagasse; self-sufficiency; Microgrid; förnybar energi; bagass; självförsörjande;

    Sammanfattning : Cuba has a long history of different dependencies and is a country facing many energy challenges, and therefore seeks to diversify its energy sources and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. The purpose of this degree project is therefore to conceptualize a microgrid based on renewable energy sources for local energy sustainability at the lowest cost possible. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Batteries charging into the future? Techno-economical analysis of BESS participation on the Swedish frequency regulation market using a mixed method approach

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Miljö- och energisystem

    Författare :Theodor Rosengren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Battery Energy Storage Systems; Frequency Regulation; FCR-D; FFR; economic feasibility; Sweden; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : As the penetration of variable renewable energy is increasing, the demand for flexibility in the electrical grid is on the rise. One way in which flexibility is needed is to provide frequency regulation. If electricity consumption and production momentarily are unbalanced there needs to. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Impact of offtake mechanisms on wind turbine selection and design in North and Central Europe

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Gesa Reiter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wind energy; offtake mechanisms; wind turbine configuration and design; rated power; capacity factor; Renewable Energy Sources Act; EEG; PPA; merchant; profitability; NPV; IRR; Vindkraft; upphandlingsmekanismer; vindturbiners konfiguration och utformning; nominell effekt; kapacitetsfaktor; lagen om förnybara energikällor; EEG; energiköpsavtal; handelsprissättning; lönsamhet; NPV; IRR;

    Sammanfattning : Wind power has become a major supplier of electricity in the European market in the last years. In 2020, 13% of electricity generated on the European continent was wind energy (onshore and offshore) and these shares are projected to increase in the next years due to reasons such as climate change and the energy security aspect.
