  1. 1. Spectral broadening of 4 mJ femtosecond pulses using a bulk multi-pass cell

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Saga Westerberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Lasers; Ultrashort; Nonlinear Optics; femtosecond; Multi-Pass Cell; Spectral broadening; pulse post-compression; Self phase modulation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Nonlinear optical effects can be used for spectral broadening, which the basis of the field of post-compression of laser pulses. When the intensity of light becomes high enough the refractive index becomes intensity dependent, and as the intensity often varies both with position and time so does the refractive index. LÄS MER

  2. 2. III-V semiconductor waveguides for application in nonlinear optics.

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Andreas Charalampous; [2022]
    Nyckelord :InGaP; optical waveguides; integrated optics; quantum nonlinear optics; SHG; SPDC; InGaP; optiska vågledare; integrerad optik; icke-linjär kvantoptik; SHG; SPDC;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents studies on III-V semiconductor waveguides with particular emphasis on second-order optical nonlinearity. The nonlinear processes that were investigated in this thesis are the Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) and the Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (SPDC). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modeling of optical microresonator frequency combs

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Författare :Michael Ekström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Optical frequency combs; Nonlinear optics; Temporal cavity solitons;

    Sammanfattning : An optical frequency comb is a structure of equidistant, coherent spectral components which can be thought of as a large array of individual phase-locked laser sources. Their utilization in precision spectroscopy garnering part of the 2005 Nobel prize, optical frequency combs constitute a relatively novel technology with a large number of potential and actual applications. 4. 4. "Do not fade, do not wither, do not grow old" : En adaptionsanalys av tid och rum i Sally Potters Orlando (1992)

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för film och litteratur (IFL)

    Författare :Minon Weber; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Adaptation Studies; Adaptation; Spatiotemporal; Orlando; Sally Potter; Virginia Woolf; George Bluestone; André Bazin; Henri Bergson; flux; time flux; nonlinear; nonlinear time; unconventional temporality; spatiality; la durée réelle; l étendu; chronological time; psychological time; Adaptionsstudier; adaptionsanalys; adaption; temporalitet; rumslighet; Orlando; Sally Potter; Virginia Woolf; George Bluestone; André Bazin; Henri Bergson; tid; rum; ickelinjär tid; okonventionell temporalitet; okonventionell tidslighet; la durée réelle; l étendu; kronologisk tid; psykologisk tid;

    Sammanfattning : For almost a century, Virginia Woolf has enchanted readers all over the world with her novel about the gender fluid and time travelling character Orlando. British director Sally Potter adapted Orlando into film in 1992, and her adaptation has since gained immense fame and a continuous presence in world cinema. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Machine Learning Enabled Nonlinear Phase Noise Mitigation for Coherent Optical Systems

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Sergio Steven Gutierrez; [2020]
    Nyckelord :QAM; NLIN; NLPN; Machine Learning; Coherent Optical Communication; Nonlinear Noise Compensation; Physics and Astronomy; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In the current development of coherent optical communication systems, nonlinear noise is considered to be the ultimate bottleneck when extending the transmission length. In this report we suggest a nonparamter digital signal processing scheme to extend the transmission length of a fiber link. LÄS MER
