1. Compression of Sequential Voxel Data for Sequence-based Animation
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknikSammanfattning : This thesis presents a method for lossy compression of voxel data in an animation sequence. Uncompressed voxel animation can become very memory intensive and therefore need a more efficient method to store and render such data. LÄS MER
2. Signed Distance Field For Deformable Terrain Shovel Collision Detection
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : One commonly used representation of complex objects in physics-based simulations are triangle meshes. This representation utilizes a collection of triangles to approximate an object. An alternative representation is a Signed Distance Field (SDF). LÄS MER
3. A comparison of neuron touch detection algorithms utilising voxelization and the data structures octree, k-d tree and R-tree
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Simulations of biologically detailed neuronal networks have become an essential tool in the study of the brain. An important step in the creation of these types of simulations is the detection of the connections between the nerve cells. This paper analyses the efficiency of four algorithms used for such purposes. LÄS MER
4. Semantic UFOMap : Semantic Information in Octree Occupancy Maps
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Many autonomous robots operating in unknown and unstructured environments rely on building a dense 3D map of it during exploration. What tasks the robot can perform depends on the information stored in this map. LÄS MER
5. Fusing Stereo Measurements into a Global 3D Representation
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Medie- och Informationsteknik; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakultetenSammanfattning : The report describes the thesis project with the aim of fusing an arbitrary sequence of stereo measurements into a global 3D representation in real-time. The proposed method involves an octree-based signed distance function for representing the 3D environment, where the geomtric data is fused together using a cumulative weighted update function, and finally rendered by incremental mesh extraction using the marching cubes algorithm.
