Evolon® CR offers an alternative to gels and tissue-gel composites, aiming to eliminate residue from gel thickening agents and the need for mechanical cleaning, while enabling the use of non-polar solvents in a bound form. The result of these multispectral analysis provided a point of departure from the concept of materiality for further reasoning regarding: attribution, provenience, art period, display and panting technique. Beside the damage caused by fire and the degradation caused by age the painting was also covered in powder from a fire extinguisher.
