   Sammanfattning : Recently, the issue whether midwives has the right to conscientious objection in connection with medical care concerning abortions has been frequently debated in Sweden. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to investigate if, and to what extent a midwife, while working in a Swedish gynecological clinic, has the freedom of conscience from taking part in service in the field of abortion, is protected by article 9 (1), and whether or not this freedom can be restricted with reference to article 9 (2) of The European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
