  1. 1. A comparison of 2D and 3D resistivity surveys for 3D inversion imaging

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Julia Cavell; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Following study focuses on electrical resistivity surveying and how it can be used as an exploration method to increase knowledge of subsurface structures. Future scenarios with increasing population and rapid urbani-zation, put high demands on reliable infrastructure; safe foundations, un-derground structures, environmental safety and access to resources. 2. 2. 3D Geological Modelling of the Subsurface Adjacent to Cementa’s Quarry in Skövde, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Minna Larsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :3D model; limestone; cement production; resistivity; photogrammetry; Skövde; 3D modell; kalksten; cementproduktion; resistivitet; fotogrammetri; Skövde;

    Sammanfattning : Limestone is one of the main components of cement production. Limestone has been quarried in Skövde, Sweden, since the end of 19th century and Cementa AB has been operating the quarry since 1973. Aside from limestone, there are also Alum shale of Cambrian age, mudstones as well as bentonite layers of Ordovician age present in the quarry. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Estimating active layer thickness at the high Arctic study site Zackenberg from remotely sensed ground subsidence

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Lotte Wendt; [2021]
    Nyckelord :active layer thickness; DInSAR; subsidence; permafrost; Zackenberg; CALM; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The active layer thickness (ALT) is an indicator of permafrost thaw, which potentially leads to the release of large amounts of greenhouse gases under global warming, and thus could further amplify climate change. The thaw depth of the active layer also governs seasonal surface deformation, caused by the volume change between ice to water, which poses risks for slope stability and infrastructure foundations. 4. 4. Hydrogeological Prognoses in Infrastructure Projects : A Case Study of Stockholm Bypass, Hjulsta Norra

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Frida Grenholm; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Infrastructure; hydrogeology; groundwater; prognoses;

    Sammanfattning : As cities expand, urban planning and efficient land use becomes more important and presents new challenges. A city that is exposed to these challenges is Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholms stad, 2018). LÄS MER

  5. 5. The role of groundwater in the inundation of a river-connected floodplain : case study of the river Silverån in southeast Sweden

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Stina Bång; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Groundwater flooding; Groundwater modeling; Flood modeling;

    Sammanfattning : Fluvial flooding has long been recognized as one of the most frequently occurring natural disasters worldwide, with consequences as large economic losses from damages on infrastructure and agriculture, as well as severe impacts on human health. A less known and explored type of flooding is groundwater flooding. LÄS MER
