    Sammanfattning : In this essay I explore modern mythmaking surrounding werewolves, with focus on what werewolves are made to represent in two modern teen movies, Ginger Snaps and Teen Wolf. Within the themes bodily transitions and the new self the movies are explored mainly through Julia Kristeva’s concept of the abject as understood by Erin Flaherty, Jennie Olofssons and Elizabeth Grosz’s understanding of leakage and Reawyn Connell’s model of hegemonic masculinity.
