  1. 1. Assessing the EnvironmentalPerformance of an In-Store VerticalFarming System : Identifying environmental hotspots for an in-store hydroponic vertical farmingsystem, using Life Cycle Assessment

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Axel Karlsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Vertical Farming”; “Life Cycle Assessment; Sweden; Environmental impacts; industrial symbiosis; Urban farming; Vertical Farming; Livscykelanalys; Sverige; Miljöpåverkan; Industriell symbios; Stadsodling;

    Sammanfattning : The world is facing many challenges to be able to ensure food security, such as anincreased food demand coming from an expanding world population andurbanisation, worsened agricultural opportunities from increased land deteriorationand significant environmental impacts coming from the food sector. Thus, there is aneed for new agricultural solutions to meet our needs whilst decreasing impactssimultaneously. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evaluation of restoration efforts in Dalälven - conditions for survival rate of Salmo trutta and Salmo salar

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Ville Svärd; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Restoration; river; salmonids; benthic fauna;

    Sammanfattning : Rivers are among the most anthropogenically affected ecosystems in the world by irrigation, transportation, channelizing, and hydropower. Habitat restorations have become a popular method to restore the heterogeneity and complexity of rivers aiming for improvement of biodiversity. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cirkulär vattenanvändning i Simrishamns kommun ur en kvalitetsaspekt - Möjligheterna för återanvändning av vatten för dricksvattenändamål och bevattning av åkermark efter konstgjord infiltration

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Emelie Swenningson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Återanvändning av vatten; vattenåtervinning; effektbaserad analys; bioanalys; vattenkvalitet; dricksvattenkvalitet; bevattning; organiska mikroföroreningar; konstgjord infiltration; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Sufficient quantity and quality of fresh water is crucial for human survival and quality of life. Water resources in water scarce areas can be efficiently managed by water reuse. In the Swedish municipality of Simrishamn, water scarcity is already a fact. Therefore, indirect water reuse by artificial infiltration is considered. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Exploring Spatiotemporal Relationships between InSAR-derived Land Subsidence and Satellite-based Hydrological Variables

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Yixin Zhang; [2021]
    Nyckelord :InSAR; Shabestar; subsidence; groundwater; hydrological variables; LSTM; Sentinel-1A; Geomatics; Technology and Engineering; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Shabestar basin in the East Azerbaijan province, Northwest Iran, where irrigation is the main groundwater consumer, has experienced large-scale subsidence and groundwater deletion, which poses a threat to the local agricultural activities, economic development, and food security. With the emergency of mitigating the risk, satisfying future demand for groundwater, and improving resilience considering climate change, this study proposes a satellite-based approach to explore the spatio-temporal relationships between measured subsidence and hydrological variables in the basin to assist groundwater management strategy. 5. 5. Effects on Groundwater Composition by the Koga Irrigation Scheme

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Jeff Viksten; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Ethiopia; Koga reservoir; pathogens; artificial irrigation; groundwater; Etiopien; Kogadammen; patogen; konstgjord bevattning; grundvatten;

    Sammanfattning : Access to clean drinking water is one of the most important resources for any society and its citizens. Without access to clean drinking water, health and living quality will be affected when pathogens will make people ill. LÄS MER
