  1. 1. Mängden död ved i värdekärnor i Söderåsens nationalpark

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Gustav Thurell; [2024]
    Nyckelord :volym död ved; stående död ved; liggande död ved; bokskog; nedbrytningsgrad; värdekärna;

    Sammanfattning : There is a lack of knowledge about the development of the dead wood in former production beech (Fagus sylvatica) forests that have been protected. The present study has been carried out in Söderåsen National Park to compare the distribution of dead wood in relatively unaffected beech forests that have been protected for a long time (A-value cores) and older, previously managed beech forest that has only been protected for 20-30 years (B-value cores). 2. 2. Föryngring med hägn : effekten av viltbete på självföryngrad ädellövskog i tre skånska naturreservat

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Håkan Ramberg; Kaj Sjöqvist; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Bokskog; naturlig föryngring; betesbegärlighet; viltbete; strukturförändring;

    Sammanfattning : Ädellövskogens artsammansättning styrs av flera naturliga processer, en av dessa processer är viltbete. Bete kan leda till att trädslagsfördelningen förändras och att föryngring blir problematiskt, speciellt i områden med stora viltstammar och för de mer betesbegärliga trädarterna. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A comparison of thinning programmes in European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) based on permanent plots in Southern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Delphine Anni Fortu; [2023]
    Nyckelord :beech; volume growth; diameter development; thinning programme; quality traits;

    Sammanfattning : The present study investigated 7 thinning experiments in beech which were established in 1971. The purpose was to compare two thinning programmes with different thinning intervals. The programmes (A and B) were designed according to yield tables by Carbonnier (1971). The experimental plots have been measured regularly in 5 to 10 years intervals. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effect of tree age on masting signal in tree-ring chronologies of beech in southern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Jeppe Van Der Lee; [2023]
    Nyckelord :beech; masting; masting signal; proxy; tree-ring chronologies; age; dominance; social position; southern Sweden; climate change; tree growth; regeneration success;

    Sammanfattning : Masting is a synchronous and highly variable production of seeds in tree species. Masting may reflect a reproduction strategy to cope with seed predation. In beech, temperature is the cue controlling annual variability in seeding. Masting behaviour in beech typically begins around the age of 40 years. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Temporal, climatic and spatial variation in the distribution and activity patterns of the raccoon (Procyon lotor) in Hainich National Park, Germany

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Maria Grüneberger; [2022]
    Nyckelord :raccoon; procyon lotor; hainich National Park; canopy Walk; camera trapping; nocturnality; ground temperature; habitat preference; european beech; fagus sylvatica; anthropogenic influence;

    Sammanfattning : The raccoon (Procyon lotor) has been a part of German fauna since the 1920s, following a number of releases and escapes from captivity. This study intends to investigate the distribution and activity patterns of this non-native mesopredator in Hainich National Park, which lies in Central Germany, in-between 3 core areas of established raccoon populations.
