  1. 1. Riparian plant biodiversity and community composition of ditches and straightened streams : identifying key environmental drivers in a boreal forest setting

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Rasmus Staaf; [2024]
    Nyckelord :artificial waterways; riparian zone; novel ecosystems; ; forestry; ditch network maintenance; species richness; hill-diversity; drainage ditches; coarse woody debris; ditch cleaning; ecology;

    Sammanfattning : Modified ecosystems are typically seen as degraded and having no ecological value. In many cases, the modification of the ecosystem was done more than 100 years ago and may have had time to recover and become a refugia for species that were once more common in the landscape. 2. 2. Station-level demand prediction in bike-sharing systems through machine learning and deep learning methods

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Nikolaos Staikos; [2024]

    Sammanfattning : Public Bike-Sharing systems have been employed in many cities around the globe. Shared bikes are an efficient and convenient means of transportation in advanced societies. Nonetheless, station planning and local bike-sharing network effectiveness can be challenging. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Den svenska underrättelseapparaten i kris: En studie av Sveriges underrättelseverksamhet i samband med ubåtsfrågan och tsunamikatastrofen

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

    Författare :Olof Svarén; [2024]

    Sammanfattning : Drawing upon previous studies in the fields of organisational theory and intelligence failure, this paper examines the efforts of the Swedish intelligence community in connection to two major crises: the submarine issue of the 1980s and early 1990s as well as the tsunami disaster of 2004. Firstly, when studying its performance in both instances, the paper finds that the intelligence community failed to meet the needs of critical decision makers during both crises. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Potential and Limitations of the Sketch Map Tool in the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Kimon Letzner; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Disaster risk reduction; Participatory action research; Community risk mapping; International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement; Colombia; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In disaster risk management, participatory mapping (PM) closes spatial data gaps in communities by integrating local risk knowledge. The thesis examined the potential and limitations of the Sketch Map Tool (SMT) as a PM tool for community-based disaster risk reduction (DRR) through an International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement case study.
