  1. 1. Energy efficiency and fiscal incentives : A stochastic frontier analysis of Swedish manufacturing sectors 2008-2020

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Nationalekonomi

    Författare :William Blombäck; [2024]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a case study of the Swedish manufacturing industry in which I measure how efficiently each sector uses energy (fuel and electricity) as input goods in their production processes, and how significant the impact of Sweden’s energy tax is in regard to energy efficiency. The purpose of this is to analyze energy security and preparedness for short-term demand shocks for electricity, as many ‘mega-investments’ of industrial nature are being planned in Sweden – which are predicted to require the installed capacity of Sweden’s electricity production to almost double by 2045. 2. 2. Could Tax Incidence Help Explain the Yellow Vest Movement? Evidence from France on tax incidence and heterogeneous effects of carbon and fuel taxation along the rural-urban spectrum

    D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :Ann-Charlott Pahl; Anton Persson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Carbon tax; Fuel tax; Tax incidence; Distributional effects; Difference-in-differences;

    Sammanfattning : There is a general consensus amongst economists that taxing carbon emissions is an efficient policy tool for combating climate change. To fully understand the thorny issues surrounding the political economy and distributional effects of carbon taxation, more attention should be paid to the rural-urban dimension. LÄS MER

  3. 3. CCU in Scandinavia: an uncertainty analysis regarding the future state of captured carbon in the region.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Författare :William Melander; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CCU; E-kerosene; Precast concrete; CO2 utilization; Scandinavian region; Defossilization; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The urgent need to mitigate climate change has prompted researchers to investigate novel strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. One promising technology that might ease the way for sustainable and circular economies is carbon capture and utilization (CCU), which not only captures CO2 emissions but also uses them to produce valuable products. 4. 4. Varför leder individers upplevelse av personligt ansvar att minska klimatförändringarna inte alltid till att de stödjer klimatpolitiska åtgärder? : En komparativ studie i Europa om länken mellan personligt ansvar och stödet för ökade skatter på fossila bränslen

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Sociologiska institutionen

    Författare :Johanna Karlsson Alalahti; Matilda Löf; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Klimatförändring; personligt ansvar; fossilbränsleskatter; miljö; klimatpolitik; tillit; koldioxid;

    Sammanfattning : Previous research shows that human activities have clearly caused the ongoing global warming, mainly through the release of greenhouse gases. Carbon dioxide and fuel taxes are often considered relatively cost-effective climate policy measures because they have been shown to be a successful way to reduce emissions where they have been introduced. 5. 5. Shifting Gear in the Auto Industry : Evaluation of the effectiveness of carbon taxes vs. fuel taxes and green innovation in the automotive industry.

    Master-uppsats, Jönköping University

    Författare :Beniamin Mary; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Green innovation is currently gaining much global attention, with the rising concern of consumers, authorities, and the broader public about resource depletion and environmental degradation. The automotive industry is a major source of manufacturing waste that degrades ecosystems and biodiversity. LÄS MER
