    Sammanfattning : Med premissen att progression ska ske i grundskolans undervisning syftar denna studie till att öka kunskapen om huruvida läromedel och lärarhandledningar belyser sambanden mellan processerna fotosyntes, cellandning, förbränning samt ämnet koldioxid och sätter dem i ett större sammanhang, kolets kretslopp. Detta görs med teoretisk utgångspunkt i Bruners spiralprincip, som säger att grundläggande kunskaper ska ges tidigt för att sedan utvecklas till mer abstrakt allteftersom, och expansive framing, som innebär att läraren ramar in inlärningstillfället både bakåtsyftande och framåtsyftande.
