1. Capacity Analysis of Åre Ski Resort: A Jackson Network Approach
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistikSammanfattning : Åre ski resort is the largest and most renowned ski resort in Sweden, offering excellent skiing opportunities, restaurants, and nightlife in a prime location. Meanwhile, it is often subject to heavy traffic during the peak season and has earned a bad reputation for struggling with long lift queues. LÄS MER
2. Robust Portfolio Optimization with Correlation Penalties
Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistikSammanfattning : Robust portfolio optimization models attempt to address the standard optimization method's high sensitivity to noise in the parameter estimates, by taking an investor's uncertainty about the estimates into account when finding an optimal portfolio. In this thesis, we study robust variations of an extension of the mean-variance problem, where an additional term penalizing the portfolio's correlation with an exogenous return sequence is included in the objective. 3. Unsupervised Clustering of Behavior Data From a Parking Application : A Heuristic and Deep Learning Approach
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för matematik och matematisk statistikSammanfattning : This report aims to present a project in the field of unsupervised clustering on human behavior in a parking application. With increasing opportunities to collect and store data, the demands to utilize the data in meaningful ways also increase. LÄS MER
4. Analyzing Survey Response Time and Response Rate for Colorectal Cancer Patients Using Logistic and Poisson Regression
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistikSammanfattning : Cancer is a highly prevalent disease worldwide, claiming hundreds of lives each year. In the field of cancer research, it is customary to conduct surveys in which patients are asked to self-report and assess their symptoms and overall health. LÄS MER
5. A Gradient Boosting Tree Approach for Behavioural Credit Scoring
Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistikSammanfattning : This report evaluates the possibility of using sequential learning in a material development setting to help predict material properties and speed up the development of new materials. To do this a Random forest model was built incorporating carefully calibrated prediction uncertainty estimates. LÄS MER
