1. Biokinetic Characterization of Methane Oxidizing Microbiomes Co-metabolizing Trace Organic Chemicals
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologiSammanfattning : The presence of organic micropollutants (OMPs) in wastewater effluents is concerning, as they pose a threat to human and aquatic health. Biodegradation via methane-oxidizing bacteria (MOB) is an attractive option, as the method is cheap and effective. MOB can co-metabolize a variety of substrates, there among organic micropollutants. 2. Greenhouse gas emissions and carbon burial in a small pond
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : There are a lot of uncertainties when it comes to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions which affects society’s ability to effectively respond to climate change. Small ponds have been found to potentially play a large role in global warming. LÄS MER
3. Membrane-less porous walls electrolyzer for electrochemical ammonia synthesis
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : n a world of unsustainable growth and increasingly catastrophic climate events, the quest for sustainability is open. Electrochemical ammonia synthesis (EAS) represents an eco-friendly means for green ammonia production. LÄS MER
5. Ammonium and nitrate sorption by biochar
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and EnvironmentSammanfattning : Biochar has recently drawn attention due to its ability to increase soil fertility, sequester carbon and its expected effect on reducing the leaching of elements from the soil, especially nitrogen. The possibility of using biochar as a soil amendment to reduce the amount of nitrogen leaching, and then reducing the quantities of nitrogen fertilizers used in agriculture to avoid the bad environmental effects has become a matter of great interest.
