  1. 1. Evaluation of a Novel Reconstruction Framework for Gamma Knife Cone-Beam CT - The Impact of Scatter Correction and Noise Filtering on Image Quality and Co-registration Accuracy

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Ida Hägnestrand; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Gamma Knife; Cone-beam computed tomography; Image quality; Image reconstruction; Co-registration; Contrast; Uniformity; Spatial resolution; Scatter correction; Wiener filter; Noise filter; Patient positioning; Stereotactic radiosurgery; Gammakniv; Strålkniv; Cone-Beam Computed Tomography; Bildkvalitet; Bildrekonstruktion; Co-registrering; Kontrast; Uniformitet; Spatial upplösning; Spridningskorrigering; Wienerfilter; Brusfilter; Stereotaktisk strålkirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The Gamma Knife is a non-invasive stereotactic radiosurgery system used for treatments of deep targets in the brain. Accurate patient positioning is needed for precise radiation delivery to the target. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Respiratory Motion Correction in PET Imaging: Comparative Analysis of External Device and Data-driven Gating Approaches

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Nina Lindström Söraas; [2023]
    Nyckelord :PET CT; Tomographic reconstruction; Respiratory gating techniques; Image registration; Motion correction; PET CT; Tomografisk rekonstruktion; Gating tekniker; Bildregistrering; Rörelsekorrigering;

    Sammanfattning : Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is pivotal in medical imaging but is prone to artifactsfrom physiological movements, notably respiration. These motion artifacts both degradeimage quality and compromise precise attenuation correction. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Predictive MR Image Generation for Alzheimer’s Disease and Normal Aging Using Diffeomorphic Registration

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Yuqi Zheng; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Medical Image Generation; Brain Aging; Diffeomorphic Registration; AlzheimerŠs Disease; Medicinsk bildgenerering; Åldrande av hjärnan; DiffeomorĄsk registrering; Alzheimers sjukdom;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer´s Disease (AD) is the most prevalent cause of dementia, signifying a progressive and degenerative brain disorder that causes cognitive function deterioration including memory loss, communication difficulties, impaired judgment, and changes in behavior and personality. Compared to normal aging, AD introduces more profound cognitive impairments and brain morphology changes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantification and Detection of Motion Artifacts in Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Dennis Amphan; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Laser speckle contrast imaging; Image registration; Motion artifacts; Detection;

    Sammanfattning : Laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) is a non-invasive method for assessment of microcirculatory blood flow. The technique is based on analysis of speckle patterns to build 2D maps of perfusion with high spatial and temporal resolution. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Validation of a method utilising MR images for dose planning of prostate cancer treatment : Validation of new coil technology applied on the pelvis region of healthy volunteers

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för hälsa, medicin och vård

    Författare :Tova Rung; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Synthetic CT; Air coil;

    Sammanfattning : By generating a synthetic CT image (sCT) directly from the MRI, the electron density can be calculated, and the CT examination can be excluded from the patient flow minimizing the risk of uncertainties in the registration. Basing the radiation treatment process solely on MR images is called MRI-only and is beneficial for the patient as it can provide more accurate radiation treatment than the standardised treatment with fewer CT examinations and possibly a more cost-effective radiation treatment process.
