    Sammanfattning : This paper analyses the pivotal gothic novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley through a close queer reading, focusing on excerpts featuring the artificially created creature and their maker, Victor Frankenstein. The queer perspective is applied to the gender identity and expression of the creature, which is a reading that lends itself to the teaching of the novel to Swedish upper-secondary students because of the timelessness of the themes and its close ties to the 2022 recommendations of the Swedish National Agency for Education regarding sexuality, consent, and relationships. The focus of the analysis in the essay is to investigate how the novel can be taught in Upper Secondary classrooms through queer pedagogy and anti-oppressive approaches focusing on silenced discourse.     Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at analysing the novel History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera using a queer phenomenological lens in order to reveal to what extent it depicts aspects of sexuality, consent and relationships in a non-heteronormative way.
