  1. 1. NON-COMPLIANCE AS PROCRASTINATION? Analysing how EU-member states live up to the Nuclear Waste Directive

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

    Författare :Ellen Petersson; [2023-10-20]
    Nyckelord :Compliance; motivations; enforcement; management; European Union; directive; radioactive waste; qualitative content analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis seeks to better understand how EU member states express motivations for not complying with EU law. Using the case of the Councils Directive 2011/70/Euratom, also known as the nuclear waste directive, this study analyzes member states' motivations for not complying with the requirements established in the directive, guided theoretically by the management and enforcement approaches. 2. 2. Nuclear Heritage and Memory : A Case-Study of the Potential Repository in Östhammar

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för ABM

    Författare :Disa Kalin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Radioactive waste repositories; Knowledge management; Memory Philosophy ; Cultural heritage; Slutförvaring av radioaktivt avfall; kunskapshantering; minnen; kulturarv;

    Sammanfattning : Den här uppsatsen hanterar ämnet om ett nukleärt arv och minne genom en fallstudie bunden till fyra identifierade aktörer. Alla fyra arbetar med etablerandet av ett slutförvar för högaktivt och långlivat radioaktivt avfall vilket förväntas vara fortsatt farligt under 100,000-tals år. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigation of Ion Extraction Anomalies at TwinEBIS

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Niek van Woudenberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CERN; ISOLDE; Ion Source; EBIS; REXEBIS; TwinEBIS; Ion losses; Charge Breeding; Ion Extraction; CST Studio Suite; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The electron beam ion source REXEBIS at CERN-ISOLDE delivers highly-charged ra- dioactive ions for post-acceleration in the HIE-ISOLDE LINAC. Research and develop- ment of components for electron beam ion sources is carried out at the TwinEBIS test stand, currently equipped with a Brillouin electron gun called MEDeGUN. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Preventing environmental injustice: literature review of the transboundary effects of the radioactive waste repository construction, Čerkezovac

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/LUCSUS

    Författare :Mara Nika Ladika; [2023]
    Nyckelord :environmental justice; distributive justice; procedural justice; nuclear repository; nuclear waste; environmental impact; sustainability science; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Identifying potential indications of inequal distribution of environmental burdens and/or benefits in the case of radioactive waste repository construction at the border between Republic of Croatian and Bosnia and Hercegovina were the aim of this thesis. To answer it the question Can environmental injustice be detected and prevented before the environmental pollution and negative impacts it bring,s to the communities in the vicinity, begin? had to be answered. 5. 5. Modelling of Fluid Flow and Contaminant Transport in Fractured Rock : Case Study

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Ebba Pegestam; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Contaminant transport; Discrete Fracture Network; Geology; Geohydrology; Groundwater transport; Fracture; Drinking water; Contamination; Föroreningar; flödestransport; spricknätverk; geologi; geohydrologi; grundvattentransport; sprickor; dricksvatten;

    Sammanfattning : Drinking water contamination is a big concern in Sweden and is commonly traced back to being waste from former manufacturing industrial sites. Pollutants in the topsoil can be remediated by several techniques, such as decontamination or excavation but the toxins already enclosed in the bedrock cannot be treated the same and is harder to track possible contaminant pathways.
