    Sammanfattning : Vattenfall AB är ett europeiskt energiföretag som strävar efter att bli fossilfria och investerar i att öka andelen energiproduktion med låg koldioxidutsläpp. Företaget äger kärnkraftverk i Ringhals där de producerar stora mängder fossilfri el. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Applications of steel-plate composite structures for nuclear modular construction

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Författare :Yann Vicedo; [2021]
    Nyckelord :nuclear concrete structures; modular construction; steel-plate composite modules; kärnkraftsbetongkonstruktioner; modulär konstruktion; kompositmoduler av stålplåt;

    Sammanfattning : Despite being the world’s second most important low-carbon source of electricity, the development of nuclear capacities is limited and does not comply with the International Energy Agency’s Sustainable Development Scenario. One of the main reasons for this lack of development is high and increasing costs of new nuclear capacities. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Background Nuclear reactors utilizing molten fuels rather than solid fuels show a massive advantage in energy yield, waste handling and safety features. The only successful reactor utilizing a molten fuel was called the ‘Molten Salt Reactor Experiment’ (MSRE), built and operated in the Oak Ridge national laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee, U.S.A. 5. 20. A Numerical Study of Melt Pool Heat Transfer in the IVR of a PWR

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Yuer Zhao; [2021]
    Nyckelord :In-vessel melt retention; corium pool; Zr oxidation ratio; melt pool convection; CFD; SST k-ω turbulence model; Smältretention i kärlet; koriumpöl; Zr-oxidationsförhållande; konvektion i en smältpöl; CFD; SST k-ω turbulensmodell;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to provide the thermal condition of melt pool convection by CFD simulation, which is important to the assessment of the invessel melt retention (IVR) strategy widely adopted in Generation III pressurized water reactors (PWRs). As a severe accident mitigation measure, the IVR strategy is realized through external cooling of the lower head of a reactor pressure vessel (RPV). LÄS MER
