1. Search for Higgs-like bosons through optimization of top-quark modelling
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Accurate estimations of background processes associated with top-quarks are vital to studies concerned with finding new physics at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)at CERN. Search for Higgs-like bosons in the ATLAS experiment at LHC was performed by optimising the use of b-jet tagging algorithms and improving on tt backgroundmodelling. LÄS MER
2. Measurement of the charge asymmetry in top quark pair decay in dilepton (e,mu) channel in pp collision data at √ s = 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this thesis the charge asymmetry of the dileptonic (e,mu) channel decay of top quark pair is presented, which is studied in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS detector. 3. Charged Higgs Boson Studies in the Channel pp→a1h±→4b+l+MET in the Next-to MSSM (NMSSM) with the ATLAS Experiment
Master-uppsats, HögenergifysikSammanfattning : Next-to-minimal super-symmetric extensions of the Standard Model (SM) predict the existence of several non-SM like Higgs bosons. The process pp→a1h±→4b+W involves the production and the decay of a spin-0 charged Higgs boson and a CP-odd Higgs boson a1 which can have a sizable cross section in the NMSSM. LÄS MER
4. Charged Higgs Boson Studies in ttbar -Dilepton Events at the LHC
L3-uppsats, HögenergifysikSammanfattning : A generator-level study of dilepton ttbar events to search for light charged Higgs bosons at the LHC is presented with the aim of finding a new variable to discriminate between charged Higgs signals and Standard Model signatures. The spin effects in leptonic decays of H± and W bosons are studied and a new angular distribution is identified as a discriminating variable. LÄS MER
