1. Modelling of injection of electrons by low-dimensional nanowire into a reservoir
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Teoretisk FysikSammanfattning : High-mobility two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) which resides at the interface between GaAs and AlGaAs layered semiconductors has been used experimentally and theoretically to study ballistic electron transport. The present project is motivated by recent experiments in magnetic electron focusing. LÄS MER
2. Water assisted CO intercalation underneath Ir(111) supported graphene studied with scanning tunneling microscopy
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Graphene have attracted attention recently due to its unique properties and opportunities for development of high performance carbon based devices. The intercalation, absorption and reactions processes of small molecules above and below the graphene islands hold the key for new perspectives in catalysis, molecular sensors and other technologies. 3. Electron Assisted Growth of h-BN on Gr/Ir(111)
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Stacked heterostructures of two-dimensional (2D) materials are emerging as promising building blocks for a wide range of applications. These devices, which range from tunneling transistors to light-emitting diodes, use the properties of 2D materials that are not accessible by their bulk counterparts. LÄS MER
4. Quantized Transmission in an Asymmetrically Biased Quantum Point Contact
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Teoretisk FysikSammanfattning : In this project work we have studied how a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in a GaAs/AlGaAs semiconductor heterostructure can be locally confined down to a narrow bottleneck constriction called a quantum point contact (QPC) and form an artificial quantum wire using a split-gate technique by application of negative bias voltages. The electron transport through the QPC and how asymmetric loading of bias voltages affects the nature of quantized conductance were studied. LÄS MER
5. A mean-field approach to attractive few-body Fermi gas
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysikSammanfattning : Quantum many-body systems can be studied theoretically from first principles using microscopic models, but the computational cost of numerically exact calculations increases exponentially with the number of particles and the complexity of the interaction, limiting the systems that can be analysed. The Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) and quasiparticle random phase approximation (QRPA) methods, heavily used in nuclear physics, rely on mean-field approximations but scale more favourably with increasing system size and complexity.
