Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Socialhögskolan

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was thru a qualitative study, with the theory about symbolic interactionism made by Mead, examine how the experiences of bullying in elementary school may occur as a consequence for future adulthood. I chose to use the internet-page Facebook to search for interviewees. Through Facebook, I asked my closest associates and friends to share this post so that the search would go out of my acquaintance, this is what Bryman (2011) would call a word to mouth method, where one source leads to another. A successful search later I found five for me unknown volunteers to ideate my respondents. The selection was made by a question of age as they were supposed to be over twenty five years old and in line with their experiences and possess an emotional distance to their experience. The study is a made out of semi-structured interviews where the interviewees told me about their experience about bullying as children, how their social interactions appears nowadays and if or how the bullying experiences appears in their adulthood. The result of the study showed that all of the interviewees felt that the experience has significance in their life nowadays. Some of them feel insecure meeting new people and some of them felt that the bulling have made them stronger as persons today.
