Arbetet med autistiska barn och inkludering i förskolan : En studie av fyra förskollärares syn på arbetet med inkludering av barn med autism i förskola

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to look into the views of four educators from different preschools; their work with autistic children and how they perceive the inclusion of these children in the daily activities with other children. The result shows that the educators in this study think that including activities are positive for all children, with or without disabilities. In order to accomplish this it is necessary to have educators with good knowledge in working with inclusion. However, one of the four educators thinks that it can also be positive for the autistic child to participate in activities just for autistic children for a certain period of time. This is because in those activities there are educators with good knowledge and experience of attending to children with difficulties. It is argued that if the child with autism gets a special education designed specifically for autistic children, it will be easier to participate in preschool activities. This study shows that it is very important to have a good comunication between parents and teachers to provide the children with autism the best support and also to be included in the preschool´s group of children.
