Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to examine how adults in their blogs relate to the concepts of victim and survivor, and how they describe their self-esteem to understand the complexity that exists in revealing and telling about a sexual abuse they were exposed to in their childhood and what meaning the blog have in this context. Sexual abuse against children is a taboo subject that evokes many emotional reactions. Studies have shown that from society´s point of you there are ignorance and insecurity how to face questions about this taboo subject and from individuals who have been sexually abused there is a difficulty to disclose and to talk about it. The empirical material in this study was based on seven blogs. Our theoretical framework was mainly based on the concepts of victim, victimization and survivors. We have also used the concept of self-esteem. The results showed that there were a tension between being a victim or a survivor, a constant ongoing process that were never either or. It also showed that there were a tension and a constant shift between high and low self-esteem within the individuals. These aspects were shown to be related to if the individuals were to tell about the sexual abuse or not and reflect the complexity of this constant ongoing process. The blog becomes an arena where they are able to expose, get support, to take power and control and make their voices heard.
