Vägen till frihet : En kvalitativ studie om hur våldsutsatta kvinnor har tagit sig ut ur sitt destruktiva förhållande

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to examine how women have proceeded to end an abusive relationship, the support and help they received and whether there were any difficulties during this procedure. Our study is based on qualitative interviews with six women. All of the women are over 18 years old and have been out of the relationship for more than two years. The data is analyzed based on thematic analysis. The results show that women more likely reached out for help via the police or/and social services. The difficulties women encounter when they are in the process of leaving their partner is shame, control and gender. There is also some other difficulties for the women when interacting with different authorities.
