Sammanfattning: Title: “Consumers demand for increased availability” Authors: Isabelle Sundquist & Olivia Fritiofsson Level: Bachelor's thesis Program: Enterprising and Business DevelopmentExaminer: Frederic Bill Background: Today the physical retailing is challenged as a result of digitalization and sales through different channels. Customers become increasingly demanding and seek a seamless experience and opportunity to shop whenever and wherever they want. Omnichannel is a concept that becomes more common, but is something that creates challenges for retailers. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to create understanding for local retailers attitudes towards belonging to an omnichannel. Method: This study is of qualitative character, with a constructive position and a hermeneutical view. Four semi-structured interviews were made with four different companies. Respondents were chosen through a goal-oriented selection. Empirical data: The empirical material consists of a summary of the four semi- structured interviews that were conducted, where the respondents answers are presented. Conclusion: The existing technophobia in the retailing business makes the retailers whom never been in contact with the omnichannel-concept before a negative attitude towards it. Small retailers needs time to process this concept but still thinks that it is the future. The retailers believe that the service-level would descend, despite research suggesting the opposite. If the omnichannel-concept would mean a greater profitability for the retailers than suggested in the omnichannel-scenario, it is something they would consider. Keywords: omnichannel, retail, physical commerce, loyalty, customer value, integrated sales channels, seamless shopping experience.
