Psykisk ohälsa och diskriminering : En kvalitativ studie om bemötande och tillgänglighet

Sammanfattning: This study is an analysis of qualitative interviews with people with neuropsychiatric disabilities/mental illness, as well as persons working with mental health or mental disabilities. The interviews were conducted to investigate how their experience of compliance with the services in the various functions of society is, to clarify whether there is discrimination in the social functions of people with mental disabilities. The questions and the analysis of the results are based on Swedish law, and look at the outcome based on Goffman's theory of the deviant's role and identity, with a narrative theoretical point of departure. The result showed that ignorance and lack of involvement/accessibility of actors in different social functions constitute the main obstacle to avoiding discrimination, and inaccessible social services for people with mental health.
