Vägen in i samhället, en kvalitativ studie om hur personal på hvb-hem för ensamkommande flyktingbarn upplever och beskriver sitt arbete med ungdomarna

Sammanfattning: The aim of our study was to examine how staff, working with unaccompanied refugee children experience their work and the children’s integration to the society. Many previous studies in the same field have often focused on the young refugees, how they perceive their situation and how they perceive the integration work. Our study is based on a qualitative research strategy and we used semi-structured interviews with seven different interviewees who worked at three different places in the southern part of Sweden. All of the interviewees were currently working with unaccompanied youth at HVB (homes for care or residence). The interviewees have different educations and prerequisites and they also have different experiences of working with unaccompanied youth or social work. The basic theoretical conceptions were normality, ethnicity and power. We have, on the basis of their differences, examined how they explain and talk about their own work with the integration of the unaccompanied youths and how they talk about the process.
