Sammanfattning: CSR is a commonly used phrase today, and companies often boast about their commitment to the environment and social aspects. But what happens to the CSR-programmes when the company is going through an economic recession? We will in a qualitative case study investigate Nordix, a large Swedish industrial company has coped with the financial crisis and try to get an understanding on how they have changed their CSR commitment during the period 2006 to 2012. The crisis struck the company in the late 2008, so with this time lapse we will get the state of the CSR performance before, during and after the financial crisis. For our analysis of the collected data we used Visser and Porter & Kramer to explain how CSR change, and how it should change. To explain why it changes we use the Stakeholder theory and Institutional theory to get the bigger picture. To make the analysing process easier and more foreseeable we used a modified model from a previous case study at Handelshögskolan (Gothenburg). Where we examined the company’s annual reports from 2006 to 2012. With a focus on changes in general, and on the social and environmental aspects. In our study we have found that the CSR-programme has changed after the financial crisis. Their CSR is now closer to the company’s core business and we have found some evidence for variation in investments in the CSR-programmes during the period. Although we can not make the assumption that it is because of the crisis, or some other variable, due to the restrained data we could collect.
