Familjehemmets röst : En kvalitativ studie om familjehemsföräldrarnas upplevelse av att vara familjehem

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this essay have been to investigate family homes’ experiences of being a family home. The focus of this work have been to look at the factors that underlie why people and families chose to become a family home. Another focus is to gain more knowledge about the main challenges that comes with accepting the mission. Besides the challenges, this work studies the opportunities that the effort brings as well. Family care affects these families in different ways, which is also something that is considered in this study. The result of the essay is based upon acquired knowledge in literature as well as qualitative studies. The qualitative studies are based on deep interviews of a total of eight people with family home experiences. The interviews were conducted in semi-structured terms and interpreted in an analytical manner. The empirical have been analysed using content analysis. The results of the work have shown that family homes mostly agree on the factors that are the basis for wanting to start a family home. The family homes consider it to be an exceptional way to help other people and that have enriched their lives. The main difference that was found was the setbacks of what the family parents experienced being the biggest challenge. The differences depended of the various client groups and the responsibility.
