Sammanfattning: The Armed Forces is looking to improve control of where articles are and the monitoring of their condition within its clothing supply. That is why Försvarets Materielverk is working on a motion to tag the Armed Forces clothing with passive RFID-tags. A cost/benefit analysis has been made in this report in order to find out whether the investment is economical justifiable and what costs and benefits arose. The analysis tool that was used is based on the PENG-model. The analysis had three scenarios with the difference that each scenario included various amounts of clothing to tag.  There has also been made an analysis where only the benefits regarding decreasing amount of lost clothes and simplified inventory were included. The result of the first analysis was that none of the scenarios was profitable during the first year. Though, after 5-10 years after the introduction, depending on the scenario and the discount rate used for the investment, the investment is profitable. If only the benefits regarding decreasing amount of lost clothes and simplified inventory had been included, the two larger scenarios would be possible to implement but they would only be profitable after a little over ten years. The third scenario included the biggest amount of clothes is most suitable to implement. Despite the cost for the scenario is the highest in comparison to the other two scenarios it creates most benefits and has the shortest payback time. The recommendation is to tag as many clothing as possible. This is because the fixed cost is independent of the amount of articles that is tagged.  The cost depending on how much is tagged is the cost of the RFID-tag and that cost is the largest individual cost but it is compensated by the benefits of tagging larger amounts of articles.
