Sammanfattning: Clients suffering from dual diagnosis are often an exposed group within social work. This particular group ends up between treatment because of a mental illness or from drug abuse. According to research these clients get their needs met through different organizations cooperation. The purpose of this essay was to create an understanding of the difficulties in working with this distinct group and the meaning of the cooperation. We used a qualitative method that was analyzed with a cooperation theory as well as a political perspective on an organization theory. The empirics have been collected through semi structured interviews combined with relevant literature. We did eight interviews with social welfare secretaries and employees from other organizations that work with clients with dual diagnosis. Some important conclusions the research has shown us about clients with dual diagnosis is that they must receive combined integrated treatment and the different organizations must cooperate for the treatment to be truly effective.
