Allt ont har ett slut - En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av rollförändringar utifrån Ebaughs teori om exitprocesser

Sammanfattning: The objective of the study was to test Ebaughs theory on the exit processes may add to our understanding of role changes. This essay has researched author’s descriptions of the way out of social vulnerability in autobiographies to discover similarities to Ebaughs theory. The sample in the study has consisted three autobiographies addressing different social issues. Material in the study has been chosen through a goal oriented sample where researches strategically have chosen autobiographies relevant for the studies purpose. The empirical material has been analysed by a content analysis and thematised by a Frameworks analysis. Generally the result shows similarities between the different authors way out of social despair to Ebaughs theory of the exitprocess. According to Ebaughs theory of the exit process, it gives a knowledge of how a role change from social vulnerability can be understood, regardless to the type of social vulnerability addressed. The study has also brought forward limits by using Ebaughs theory of the exitprocess. With the study’s result the researchers deem Ebaughs theory useful in order to retain basic knowledge on role changes related to the social work, while acknowledging the importance of every individual’s complexity.
