Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi

Sammanfattning: The aim of the essay is to analyse who is represented in urban space in three vision and action documents published by Lunds municipality. By using Norman Faircloughs critical discourse analysis as method the discourses in the material is located. From there the vision and actions are analysed through the theoretical framework Torsten Hägerstrands theory of time geography constrains and David Harveys understanding of the room. Through the located discourses in the three documents different measurements are being set in place depending on who is represented in the documents. The first document presents Lunds city and its society as being shifted towards sustainability. Throughout the document the group represented is furthermost future generations. The second document presents a city that is accessible to both people living in the periphery and people living in the city centre. However, the accessibility is mainly directed towards visitors and thereby to the city. Due to Lund being a sprawled urban area this might lead to heavier traffic and result in a lowered accessibility with in the urban centre. The final document views the city as a solely economic entity, and thereby put forward actions to change the urban space in order to suite the consuming visitor.
