Sammanfattning: This master thesis highlights the risks associated with tunneling in land and mountains. In the report you will find questions raised from the authors. The questions were answered by the company Implenia, which built a tunnel in Vinsta that is linked to the main tunnel in the project E4 Förbifart Stockholm. You can also find answers from the company Zublin regarding the Södermalm tunnel.The purpose of the report was to get an insight into the tunneling process and analyze the risks that appeard in projects E4 Förbifart Stockholm and the Södermalmstunnel.Furthermore, the purpose was also to inform and reach out to others about those risks that may occur in a tunneling process. In addition to this, this work aims to enlightening all projectors about the importance of taking into account the above-mentioned risks at the design stage to prevent shuting down at the construction stage.The questions were answered through interviews with both companies regarding these projects. The projects were interesting to the authors because one company Implenia had to deal with a so-called leakage while making the tunnel. While the company Zublin was working with a so-called mountain race during their tunneling process. More about the handling of these events will be found later in this report.With the help of two compendiums and a doctoral and some webpages, the report was completed. This report is also limited to these two companies and their projects only.
