Läxhjälp och rättvisa : en idéanalys av debatten och förslagen kring läxhjälpens utformning

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Mänskliga rättigheter

Sammanfattning: The debate on the design of policy regulating private tutoring in Sweden became a symbolic issue contextualized by contemporary political events and shifts in public opinion. The proposition of a state tax subsidy for private tutoring was opposed by statements arguing for the propositions effects on an equal access to education. Is there a just and plausible way forward? And what were the propositions regarding private tutoring voiced? This paper aims towards identifying the proposed propositions through a descriptive analysis of the debate. This is followed by an evaluation aimed at determining if these proposals are reasonable. This will be achieved through an assessment inspired by John Rawls theory of justice and by relevant sociological theories. The study identified three propositions. The evaluation concluded that none of these were compatible with Rawls principles of justice. Much of this due to the different propositions inability to offer students with a lower cultural capital a just and equal education. Key words: Private tutoring, idea analysis, John Rawls, sociology of education, justice, educational justice, a theory of justice.
