Sammanfattning: Not all children have a gender identity as boy or girl. Yet grown ups - teachers and family tend to force children in to one or the other and then punish them who don’t fit in.   This project examines how a child reacts to the invisible violence that is force gendering and how I as an illustrator best convey those feelings. The result is the graphic novel “Girl Code”.  By experimenting with different imagery, light/darkness and perspective I searched for the best way to convey emotion and power.  My goal was by creating an emotional story, to arouse the reader’s empathy and understanding of how non binary gender identity not only exist, but also must to be respected.
