Fackförbundssynen på socialtjänsten: En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av hur Akademikerförbundet SSR och Vision artikulerar socialtjänstens situation

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to examine how the trade unions Akademikerförbundet SSR and Vision articulate the Swedish social services’ situation in articles published on their websites and in their membership magazines between January 2015 and April 2016. The method used in this study was a qualitative content analysis where we aimed to answer the following questions: How is the current situation within the social services articulated? How is the wanted and unwanted situation within the social services articulated? The theoretical framework used for analyzing the material was Organizational Theory and Professional Theory. The study showed that both Akademikerförbundet SSR and Vision articulate the situation within the social services as problematic and it was described as a crisis. The discussion about the social services mainly focuses on child protective services. Both unions articulate that there are issues recruiting and keeping employees within the organization due to a lack of proper working conditions. However, even though Akademikerförbundet SSR and Vision agree upon that action is required to change and improve the situation within the Swedish social services, they articulate partially differing solutions.
