Sammanfattning: Today’s society is deep rooted in a clothing oppression. Even though many coun-tries acknowledge and justifies the freedom of opinion and expression, civilization itself seems to develop this oppression. Where there are no binding laws deciding for what the citizen are allowed to wear, the society is soon there to correct an occurrence of insolence. Women tend to be specifically exposed to this discrimi-nation, particularly when they try to break out of this bleak reality. This essay struggles to answer the question of media’s part in this much global issue. Online published news articles are one of today’s easiest ways to spread and receive knowledge; therefore there are no questions whether the media holds a considerable impact on common thought and opinion. Therefore this essay will examine the media’s interpretation of occurrences of clothing oppression against women. By applying a human rights perspective on six selected news arti-cles, this essay will strive to reach and understanding of its role in opinions re-garding women right to clothes.
