”Vi måste tro på oss själva” – en studie om ledarskapets påverkan på collective efficacy hos lagidrottare

Sammanfattning: Previous research showed that the three leadership styles in the CPE-model (Change-, Production- & Employee-centered leadership) varies in efficiency. Further research showed that prior performances has a positive correlation with collective efficacy. The relationship between the CPE-model and collective efficacy, however has not been researched. This study, therefore, aimed at answering whether perceived leadership and prior performance can predict collective efficacy. An internet survey was answered by 91 team athletes in different codependent sports. The survey consisted of two existing questionnaires, Collective Efficacy Questionnaire for Sports and CPE-leadership model as well as an introduction with questions about gender, age, sport affiliation and prior performances. The effect on collective efficacy was measured by four prediction variables including prior performances and the three leadership styles of the CPE-model. A standard multiple regression was conducted to try the hypotheses. The results showed that the model had an effect on collective efficacy. Change- and Production-centered leadership and prior performances showed a positive correlation to collective efficacy. Prior performances were the only variable to have an individual effect on the criteria variable. The study aimed to clarify which of the leadership styles that would have the most positive effect on collective efficacy, as well as make teams aware of the importance of prior performances.
