Sammanfattning: Individualism and self-realization has come to characterize the Swedish community to a high extent. For the young generation, trying to find ones way often creates a high level of pressure from external as well as internal factors as a result of this climate. People born between the years 1980-2000 have become a part of a contemporary phenomenon, which can be referred to as Generation Y. In this thesis we acknowledge one specific group within this generation, university students. The student health has become a critical issue, for both society, as well as universities around the country. This study aims to investigate if a course in Self-Leadership can affect the well being of university students. This by applying the Sense of Coherence theory (SoC) and thereby measure the well being of students that have taken a course in Self-Leadership and comparing the results to students that have not. Another purpose of the study is to try to explain eventual effects by using theories and models within the Self-Leadership field. The thesis results in findings that support a positive correlation between a Self-Leadership course and university student's well being according to the SoC-theory. The correlation is discussed within the frames of the SoC- components; comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness.
