Sammanfattning: The purpose of this essay was to research whether there exists a consensus among historyteachers regarding their evaluation of historical knowledge. The questions answered in thisessay are the following:- Is there a consensus regarding the ranking of historical knowledge among historyteachers?- What aspects affect the ranking among the teachers?- Is there a correlation between a teacher’s graduation year and how they rank thehistorical knowledge?- Is the teaching of history equal among teachers?Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used in order to determine whether thereexists a consensus and identify potential issues among history teachers. The theory used wasconstructed based on Klas-Göran Karlssons principles of progression. The results were thatthere is a semi-consensus among the top ranking and bottom ranking of the principles,whilst the mid-range were lacking consensus. Due to this result we claim that the teaching ofhistory is not equal due to the fact that it does not exists a full consensus among the historyteachers. Furthermore, more researching on this topic is needed to determine to full extentof this problem.
