Syndikalister i konflikt : En ideologianalys av hur den syndikalistiska ideologin präglade Karlstads LS fackliga arbete under åren 1916 till 1917

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study has been to examine how the working methods and activities of Karlstad LS were organized and developed during the years 1916 to 1917. The study also addresses to which extent the unions work was carried out in accordance with the ideology of the syndicalist, as it is formulated within the SAC. By combining a deductive and an inductive working method the study interprets the source material and tries to reach the truth behind it. The paper is based partly on the board meeting that Karlstad LS conducted between the years 1916 to 1917, and an ideology analysis, in which ideal types have been designed on the basis of previous research, and a propaganda work written by leading players in the SAC. In the course of the study it was essential to first explain what syndicalism is and then analyze the local activities in Karlstad. The practices and action of the union during a conflict with an employer at Skoghall have been analyzed with the ideal types. With the analysis the paper then determined whether the movement was ideologically embossed or more pragmatic in its approach with the employer.  In the most cases Karlstad LS operated in accordance with SAC’s opinion by the acts they performed, but sometimes it was also very difficult to follow all the aspect of the ideology. For example, to conduct an absolute battle where no compromises should be made is not immediately viable in practice. A union had to be more pragmatic in some situation in order to relate to reality.
