Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: This thesis aims to study the representation of gender aspects in health policies from an international level down to regional Swedish level to see if the gendered perspective is present. It also aims to see how the Swedish region Gävleborg with their policy work can create possibilities for gender equality in health development. A feminist post structural theory and a policy analysis together with the perspective of a feminist critical policy analysis method has been used is this thesis. The material for this thesis is five health policy documents from WHO, EU and the Swedish region of Gävleborg. The results of this thesis show that gender aspects are not included as main categories in any of the health policy documents, but that the Swedish region Gävleborg can be positive in their ability to maintain a gender equal development. In the strategy towards equality, gender is mentioned as one of several possible factors that can have a health impact on individuals. The discourse of including the gender perspective in policies is similar at all different levels, proving that the international influences on regional work is evident.
