En studie av ett grundvattensystem - Geologiska Institutionens provpumpningsanläggning på P7 i Revingehed

Sammanfattning: In this study, I have examined a groundwater system located close to a military training camp in Revingehed outside Lund, Sweden. The study includes water analyses of substances in two of three aquifers. The study also shows the effects on the groundwater system when a well located in the third aquifer was pumped with 100 l/min during 3 days. Regarding the activities that has been going on in the area and known facts about substances that are often found in Scanian groundwater a number of substances where chosen to analyse for. The results show that the waters redoxpotenial is -256 mV in the first aquifer and -345 mV in the second, which means that the waters chemical status is reducing. Only a few of the anticipated chemicals were found in the aquifers. For the first aquifer iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and turbidity were found to be over the Swedish limit for drinking water. In the second aquifer Fe, turbidity and sodium (Na), were the substances with levels over the Swedish drinking water limits. The levels of Fe and Mn are results of the reducing water, where levels tend to be higher when the water is reducing. The chemistry of the water in the second aquifer tells us that the water is a mix from different levels of the aquifer; an indication for this is the low levels of Mn in aquifer 2. The levels of Mn tend to be higher in aquifers with reducing conditions as we saw in the first aquifer. None of the investigated pesticides were detected in the analyses. PFOA was detected in both aquifers in low levels. An earlier study has shown that there is a leakage from the third aquifer to the second. The results from the test pumping confirmed earlier studies that been focused on test pumping.
